The administration of ethanolic extract of P.guajava leaf showed hypolipidaemic and hypoglycaemic effect in Alloxan induced diabetic rats. Psidium guajava (P.guajava) leaves have been reported to have hypoglycaemic effect on blood glucose level of normal rats as well as Streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats. Since long time, different parts of Guava tree have been extensively studied for its medicinal role. ![]() So, it is considered as poor man’s apple of tropical and sub-tropical countries. Guava fruit is included among the super-fruits with low calorie profile with high dietary fibre, rich in antioxidant vitamins i.e., Vitamin C, Lutein, Beta carotene as well as minerals. Guava ( Psidium guajava Linn.) is a small tropical tree that is widely grown for its fruit that is commonly known for its nutritional, medicinal and pharmacological values. ![]()
